Housing Minister to address agents ahead of General Election

Housing minister Lee Rowley will be taking centre stage at the largest property agency conference in the UK this summer, Propertymark One.

He is one of a number of housing ministers at the Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, led by Secretary of State Michael Gove.

Rowley is billed at giving agents an update on leasehold and freehold reform, building safety, renters reform, regulation and redress from the heart of government.

Rowley was not the minister fronting for the government’s discussions last week on the Renters reform Bill - that was Jacob Young.

Previously, Rowley was Parliamentary Under Secretary of State in the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, for the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and Government Whip and Lord Commissioner of HM Treasury. He was elected the Conservative MP for North East Derbyshire on 8 June 2017.

Propertymark head of commercial Jason Lee comments: “We are delighted to announce that the Housing Minister will be giving a keynote address to members and the wider industry at our Propertymark One Conference in June.

“Key changes to housing legislation are going through Parliament that will impact the housing and property sector, so delegates will hear directly how the UK Government’s plans will impact them and their businesses. Propertymark agents have a key role to play in ensuring the regulations are implemented, and by attending, will know how they can play their part in the roll out of reforms.”
