Fareed Nabir, director of online letting agency Let Britain, has been named as the first ever Entrepreneur of the Year at the British Bangladeshi Business Awards.

Nabir - who says he is thrilled to be the first recipient of this incredible honour - describes his agency as revolutionary in its market, putting the power back into the hands of the people using the service.

He claims that the rental market is currently in a state of transition with many businesses trying to deal with the migration from extortionate high street agencies to digital platforms, and that he will continue to develop his site into one of the country's premier virtual letting agencies.

Let Britain's business model relies on landlords uploading their own details and photographs, communicating directly online with would-be tenants and conducting their own viewings.

The site charges a flat-rate property uploading fee of £4.99; an additional £4.99 buys a small feature' on the site's 'featured properties' section and £9.99 buys a larger feature.

If a landlord finds a tenant through the site he or she must pay £199, including tenant checks, vetting, referencing and the drawing up of the tenancy agreement.

Tenants who find a rental property through Let Britain pay what is described as a non-refundable introductory fee of £99 which includes contacting references and drawing up the appropriate tenancy agreement for you and your landlord, cementing the decision in law.
