The programme offers a complete and affordable solution for the rental property market by providing letting agents with the tools to comprehensively check the suitability of tenants, record detailed photographic inventories, submit gas and electricity meter readings, starting dates for local authority council tax and produce signed and legal AST contracts.
OnBoard Pro is about far more than traditional credit referencing. It uses over 30 independent data sources including UK Border Agency right to abode checks. All of this data is fed into a complex business intelligence risk engine, producing results that keep landlords and agents protected.
This is all done from within the same application and all on the same day. In many cases the process can be completed in under an hour.
What was the driving force behind you launching the company
The rental property market has been uder the spotlight recently and not for the right reasons.
The industry is perceived, and rightly so, as a minefield, one which is both complicated and time consuming for agents, landlords and tenants alike.
In fact, such is the need to transform it that there is an ongoing Government review into it which is being led by Natalie Elphicke, Co-Founder of Million Homes, Million Lives.
Natalie said: Technological advances like OnBoard Pro support a more modern approach to lettings which is what tenants want. I am sure the lettings industry, government and tenants would support the success of these new applications designed to provide better value to people renting, saving them both time and money.
It was with these reasons in mind that we began looking into developing a package which would simplify the whole process for everyone involved.
Practically, how does OnBoard Pro work
Landlords who use the OnBoard Pro software programme can expect to find the right tenant for their property and have the application process completed much more quickly.
All checks can be conducted there and then with the prospective tenant during a simple five-step process. A decision is then made as to their suitability within the hour, often in a matter of minutes.
For tenants the process is just as efficient. Each step of the application process is conducted on the landlords or agent's tablet or large smart phone and means they can know there and then if they've been successful.
By using the OnBoard Pro system a lot of the headaches which come with letting and renting a property are removed. More importantly, the current average of 18 hours of letting agent administration are reduced to under an hour, saving time and money and offering the opportnity to pass on savings to tenants.
A Poplus survey with private renters was recently conducted. What were the headline results of it
The survey found sixty per cent of private tenants believe UK letting fees are poor value for money.
It also found 42 per cent thought fees charged by letting agents were bad value for money and almost half (48 per cent) felt the fees did not reflect the time and effort put in by the letting agent.
A quarter of private renters were unlikely to use the same letting agent again based on their previous experience while 52 per cent said that the current tenant application system is slow and reliant on outdated technology.
