A Belvoir franchisee who only opened his doors for business last November has already made two acquisitions of other agencies.

Mark Stephenson, of Belvoir York, has bought Luke Haslam Estates in Thirk and is set to complete on a second acquisition at the end of this month.

The new office, where existing staff are being retained, will be rebranded as Belvoir Thirsk and Stephenson said: “I wanted to take on an acquisition because it was always my long-term plan to be one of the bigger Belvoir franchises in Yorkshire and the North-East.

“An acquisition will help us to grow quickly because we’re taking on a portfolio with more than 100 managed properties.

“I’ve only been with Belvoir for a short time, but my business has shown rapid expansion. We launched Belvoir York last November and already have over 30 fully managed properties. I’m working seven days a week.”

Belvoir CEO Dorian Gonsalves said: “In the short time that Mark has been with Belvoir, his project management skills and passion for property have made him a great asset, and we would like to congratulate him on the acquisitions he has made, which will enable his business to develop at a much faster pace than by pure organic growth.”

Part of Belvoir’s strategy for this year is to help its franchisees grow their own businesses, while also adding to Belvoir’s own corporate acquisitions.
