Let Alliance, a provider of tenant referencing and rent guarantee insurance products to the lettings market, is launching a professional indemnity insurance product for agents.
 
Andy Halstead, chief executive said: “We work exclusively with letting agents across the UK, and providing PI insurance designed specifically for property agents is a great addition to our proposition.”
 
He said the product is tailored to meet the specific challenges of the property industry and the risks faced by letting agents when there is an inadvertent breach.
 
Standard features of the Let Alliance product include ombudsman awards, Data Protection Act costs up to £250,000, loss of documents up to £250,000, prosecution defence up to £500,000, plus protection dishonest acts of employees and/or partners and directors.

Halstead said: “We are proud to work with professional letting agents.

“Our new PI insurance covers our customers in the worst-case scenario, protecting their business and safeguarding their reputation. Our product features are comprehensive and our pricing is competitive. I challenge letting agents to get a quote from us.”

    Having Professional Indemnity Insurance in place is good practice and is in fact a requirement for many professional agents. It is designed to protect agent businesses and their clients. Unfortunately even simple errors could result in substantial claims which could be very damaging for some letting agents. The cover offered by Let Alliance underpins the trust that landlords have in their agents.

    who needs client money protection anymore when we can insure ourselves against getting caught AND apparently these are the 'professional letting agents'!
