We've already seen a Facebook post featuring a Santa showing how many days left until Christmas but far from shock you, this should act as a timely reminder that winter is just around the corner.  Here at ARPM Property Management we see a marked rise in calls from tenants regarding winter maintenance issues – starting from October.

Burst pipes are one of the most common maintenance issues when the temperature drops and they are also one of the most damaging. A burst pipe during winter normally occurs when the water in a pipe freezes. This causes a blockage and the pressure of the water building behind the frozen section will eventually become too much for the pipe to handle, causing a crack and then a leak. The leak can be anything from a constant drip to an impressive jet of water - but once a pipe has burst it will need emergency attention.
