A property manager is awaiting sentence after pleading guilty to stealing £122,000 from his employers.

Simon van Houten, 31, from Southend in Essex, worked for Rendall and Ritner, which manages a number of high-profile residential blocks in London, including for Berkeley and Redrow, and also the Lower Mill Estate in the Cotswolds.

Van Houten, a parish councillor, carried out the fraud over two years and pleaded guilty just before the trial began at the Old Bailey.

Sentencing is set for July 26.
