Tenant online hunt stats

Lettingweb sitestatistics, published on a weekly basis, can be used to determine trends in the residential letting market from year to year or season to season.

So far for the week ending 5th August 2012:

·         Visits and visitors are up 18% and 17% respectively on last year;

·         Visits, visitors and page views are up 7%, 4% and 7% respectively on last month;

·         Enquiries per property are higher than ever – at 4.31…

·         …due to conversions increasing – 30% of visitors now enquire…

·         …which equates to almost 40,000 total enquiries, 100 more than the record this year of 30,900.

There is likely to be a seasonal influence on some of these figures; for example as the new university year approaches, students will likely be looking for new flats to rent for the following academic year, and due to many landlords excluding the month of August from rental contracts so as to let separately during the festival, many individuals at the end of their leases are looking for another property.
