A new six-part series on BBC Two promises to be unmissable viewing when it airs next week.

The first episode of Under Offer: Estate Agents On The Job will be shown at 8pm on Wednesday 9 April.

The BBC says it gives viewers exclusive access to the working lives of 11 estate agents from across the whole country as they help their clients in their quest to become home owners.

The BBC describes the series as filled with drama, humour and vibrant personalities. It says viewers will see first-hand how these estate agents combine market and location knowledge with the gift of the gab, trying to get their clients what they want.

The BBC says: From million-pound pads in Kensington and Chelsea and second-home country cottages in the Cotswolds, to terraced houses in County Durham and even fantasy islands in Scotland, this series follows the people who broker the biggest purchases that most of us will ever make. It also provides the chance to see inside homes across Britain and to meet those who are moving house, revealing the human interest stories behind one of life's most stressful events.

The series follows people along the property chain and provides a revealing insight into the British economy and the state of the housing market across the country. Is there more to being an estate agent than meets the eye Do estate agents live up to their reputation What's life really like for the middleman How far do these agents go to secure a deal

Commissioned by Alison Kirkham, head of commissioning factual features & formats at the BBC, the series was filmed between June 2013 and January 2014 by the independent production company betty.

Kirkham says: "Estate agents are irresistibly watchable characters. In this series, they offer fascinating insights into Britain's extraordinarily varied property market. From multi-million-pound houses through to repossessed homes auctioned with a starting price of just a pound. Along the way the audience can pick up insider tips on how best to buy and sell their own homes."
