A family run letting agency has been the subject of what the local fire service calls an arson attack.

The attack took place on Landlords Sales & Lettings in Wolverhampton during Tuesday evening when a member of the public saw the office door on fire.

West Midlands Fire Service says the blaze is being treated as arson, and police are investigating.

The branch did not open on Wednesday but a report in a local newspaper quoted a man who was in the family operating the agency claiming petrol had been used to start the fire.

He said: "One of the neighbours said they saw someone pour petrol under the the letter box and set it on fire. They called 999 and then called me. I can't believe it really. I don't know what you can say or why someone would target us. We're a family run business."
