easyProperty is to announce the launch date for its online lettings service in the next few weeks and has appointed one of the country's leading property PR firms to help it get extensive mainstream editorial coverage.

A spokeswoman for easyProperty told LAT that a launch date would be agreed within the next month or so. The new service is known to be debuting its lettings service before it launches its online sales operation.

Meanwhile LAT can reveal that the firm has selected TTA Property to handle its public relations.

TTA - a long-standing property PR brand which has handled scores of estate agents, developers and associated property sector firms over two decades - will work mostly on the consumer and property trade media. It will be organising a launch event, creating a press office for the firm and undertake what it calls ongoing consumer PR activity.

The selection of TTA, part of the Good Relations Group, marks out easyProperty from almost all online agencies launched to date.

Whereas most property online start-ups have either used small PR firms or handled their PR in house with low budgets - sometimes simply using administrative staff - the announcement that TTA is handling the new agency's account suggests the service has a significant budget and an emphasis on brand-building.

TTA's current property clients include Harrods estate agency, St George, Taylor Wimpey, Redrow, Berkeley Homes, Malcolm Hollis, Weston Homes, Frasers Property, Northacre and many others.

easyProperty has already commissioned a creative agency, BLAC, and a consumer engagement agency', Starcom, to help with advertising campaigns.

With a 5 budget and overheads of their team along with their low cost budget fees etc they would need to be appointed to let every rental property in England to recoup their costs. Or over the last 25 years have I missed something

Well, good luck to them. Their PR team will have their work cutout for them trying to convince people to buy their property from the same people that operate easy jet, which is not exactly known for quality service. They may have a lot of weight behind them, but I still have faith in local estate agencies to provide substance over flash.

Wonder if easyPropertys launch will be delayed In all seriousness, theyre going to have some serious financial weight behind them what high street lettings agent could hire out a top PR firm This could have an adverse effect on smaller companies, which just seems unfair. Smacks of a another big company spreading their wings to make as much profit as they possibly can from as many arenas as possible.
