Regional agency is latest to offer deposit-free rental model

Norfolk-based estate agency Sowerbys is the latest to announce that it is offering its landlords the opportunity to use a deposit-free lettings model.

The agency has offices at Norwich, Burnham Market, Holt, Dereham, King’s Lynn, Hunstanton, Wells-next-the Sea and Watton.

It’s offering flatfair’s deposit-free system, under which tenants pay a one-off membership fee of one week’s rent plus VAT.

“It’s clear the current deposit system needed a fresh approach and aligning with developing tenant and landlord expectations. The private rental sector continues to grow and evolve rapidly and the need for innovative technology based solutions to streamline the customer experience has never been greater” says Ed Tyman, Sowerbys’ group lettings manager.

“Our landlords now have access to a range of benefits including twelve weeks protection rather than the traditional, soon to be capped six weeks” he adds.
