Faster check-out admin for agents thanks to PropTech integration

Two PropTech suppliers have announced their products will integrate in order to, in their words, “dramatically reduce reporting and end of tenancy admin.”

The Depositary, run by high-profile agent Kristjan Byfield, is integrating with Inventory Hive in a move which they say will align paperless reporting software with an end of tenancy experience that will drastically cut letting agent admin time - and better protecting tenants and landlords, too.

“There are few things more thankless than the tenancy conclusion process. We but The Depositary to save agents time and stress whilst delivering a first class experience for tenants and landlords. Our integration with Inventory Hive is another leap forward in this regard - streamlining the process even further and removing the need for duplicated data entry and the risk of human error” explains Byfield.

“This underlines our commitment to deliver a market-leading solution through powerful integrated partnerships. We estimate this integration will save an agent 15-20 minutes per tenancy on top of the two-hours work we already save them” he adds.

The services say the benefits of the integration include check-out descriptions and photos for items requiring deposit deductions being automatically uploaded from Inventory Hive to The Depositary, and similar automation for check-out report files and check-out meter reading data and photos.

Items requiring deductions are also automatically referenced

“Since launching just over four years ago we’ve been on a mission to make unnecessary disputes a thing of the past, whilst also pushing the boundaries of innovative features that make inventory reporting transparent and far more efficient” says Inventory Hive chief executive Richard Abbots.

“This integration will allow check-out descriptions and photos captured via our App to be passed through to The Depositary effortlessly. This solves the age-old admin headache of re-typing and double entry” he adds.

Meanwhile Steve Harriott, chief executive of The Dispute Service comments: “We’re delighted to see two of our key partners linking up in this way.  We know that inventories are key to reducing the numbers of deposit disputes. [This] … will mean fewer disputes between landlords and tenants and a faster end of tenancy process.”

As an agent, I've been banging the 'integration' drum for nearly a decade. Quality integrations like this deliver the most seamless experience for users of both products- it removes duplicated data entry driving down the amount of work involved and eliminating human error. We estimate this will save agents a further 15-20 minutes per tenancy on top of the 80% time-savings we already deliver- this, in turn, will speed up the transaction time ensuring tenants (and where applicable landlords) get their funds faster- making our agents look better. This is a [perfect example of two quality products/services being super-charged by this integration with each other.

    Horsefeathers!
Unless you have a way of making tenants admit they did not leave a property as clean as they found it or that they did break an item. it will NOT mean fewer disputes.

The phrases, "It was like that when I moved in" and "I left it cleaner than when I moved in" spring to mind. The old mantra, "The landlord leaves a palace and gets back a slum. The tenant moved into a slum and leaves a palace" are very true.
