Neil's Recent Activity

Surely landlords shouldn't be the ones telling the letting agency about the changes. As the director of an estate agency I've ensured that myself and the team are clear on all of the relevant changes to legislation. Not enough is being done to make others aware in the industry though, which could be improved upon.

Doesn't seem to have gone down very well. I'm not surprised, it comes across as an unnecessarily draconian measure that has, as we've seen, achieved very little.

Foxtons in the news again! I can't work out if their PR team will be delighted about that. Their name has been in the headlines a fair few times in the last few weeks, but often for all the wrong reasons.

Agreed. A fun little experiment which gives each side a fantastic insight into what really goes on in their respective professions. Maybe something similar could be done with an estate agent and a member of the public - whether that be an accountant, a personal trainer, a PR manager or a shopkeeper. People might realise being an estate agent isn't as easy as some in the media would like to make out.

Good to see some sense being displayed by Labour at last. Leslie seems to have his head screwed on from what I've seen of him. As a private landlord himself, he'll understand the industry and not buy into the media myth that all landlords are only in it for the money.
