Agents flock to join Primelocation group and Propertyfinder, say publishers

While Rightmove says it has 13,000 agents, its two nearest competitors are claiming sizeable increases in agency numbers with a sizeable number of new recruits.

The Digital Property Group appears to be snapping at Rightmove’s heels, yesterday evening saying it currently has 12,034 sales and rental branch advertisers.

It says this is in comparison with the beginning of December’s 11,910 branch advertisers, an increase of 124 new offices month on month.

However, Digital has four websites, including Primelocation and FindaProperty, and is currently offering agents a pricing policy based on them using all of them. Rightmove and the other of the ‘big four’ sites, Propertyfinder, use only the one brand each.

Propertyfinder says that at the end of November it had 6,785 offices uploading properties to its site.

This represents a rise on its 2007 figure of 4,400 member agents’ offices, and an increase on the 5,000 using Propertyfinder some six months ago, in the middle of last year.
