Letting Agent Today has been given the unique opportunity to catch up and Interview Andy Halstead CEO of Let Alliance

Interview by Lee Dahill, Angels Media
                    lee.dahill@angelsmedia.co.uk

Q: Who are Let Alliance?

A:  Let Alliance is a specialist tenant referencing and rent guarantee provider to the UK letting agent market place. We also specialise in landlord and tenant insurance supplied through letting agents and financial intermediaries. Innovation is the key to our business and we are committed to helping improve the top line and bottom line performance of our letting agent partners.

Q: How long has Let Alliance been trading?

A: SinceJanuary 2011; our experienced and passionate management team has developed, built and launched a proposition that challenges the established providers in the market place.

Q: How did it all start?

A: The Let Alliance team previously played key roles in the set up and re-shaping of the current market leaders; with that insight and passion to develop something innovative  and unique for a fast developing market, Let Alliance was born. Value for money and ‘nil’ excess rent guarantee and insurance products is core to what we offer.

Q: What is the product you are offering?

A: Tenant Referencing, Rent Guarantee and a variety of specialised insurance products for both Landlords and Tenants.

Q: Why choose Let Alliance?

A: Outstanding service and value for money, along with ‘nil’ excess rent guarantee and landlord and tenant insurance products make for a letting agent proposition that leads the market. The Let Alliance platform is simple, efficient and uses the latest technology.

Q: What are your three unique selling points?

A: Free referencing, Nil excess insurance products and a Personal Account Manager for every Agent

Q: who do you currently work with?

A: Our partners also include, DAS, UK General Insurance Group, VTUK, Advent, CreditSafe and Call Credit. We have also developed relationships with over 200 letting agent customers across the UK.

Q: What makes you stand out from the crowd?

A: Value for money and ‘nil’ excess products.

Q: What are your strengths?

A: Our people and the technology that we use. Let Alliance has no debt and each member of the management team holds equity in the business. We know the industry and we know letting agents.

Q: How do you create value for your clients?

A: Our products and services help letting agents improve both their top line revenue and bottom line profits. Landlords and tenant benefit from ‘nil’ excess insurance products and outstanding value for money through letting agents who partner Let Alliance.

Q: How do you overcome your competitors?

A: Price, service and products. We know intimately how our competitors work and we have developed our proposition to be seriously competitive. We do not have bank debt to service or corporate parents to satisfy.

Q: What is your greatest achievement and what made it so special?

A: Launching Let Alliance and winning business from our first letting agent customers. It just felt right and we knew that we had developed a market leading proposition.

Q: What do you feel it takes to be successful in the industry?

A: A real understanding of what customers want; not what you think they want; a dedicated team and the ability to listen and adapt quickly to market changes.

Q: Have you been surprised by the rapid growth of the business?

A: No, we have a great customer proposition and fantastic team of people behind it.

Q: Are you currently offering any special promotions?

A: The Let Alliance proposition for letting agents is very strong and compelling. Special offers would undermine our proposition, we offer outstanding value for money to both existing and new customers. The idea of giving things away to new customers at the expense of existing customers is fundamentally flawed.

Good feedback, thanks. I guess my comment in the interview has made it difficult for us to make special offers, for example at Christmas time. Sorry for that, we do however have credibility with our customers. From time to time we will make seasonal offers in support of our customers and also offers that help them at quiet or difficult times. These will be integral to our offering and support our proposition.
    Happy Christmas.

The answer to the last question has now been totally contradicted by the latest Let Alliance article.

    Credibility = Zero.
