The Association of Lettings and Management Agents, a body operating in south Wales, has appointed a new chair for 2014.

Martine Harris, senior manager with one of Cardiff’s most established independent estate agents, Moginie James, will formally take up duties in January.

She will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the organisation, which was set up to provide help and guidance for landlords and tenants, and encourages best practice in the lettings industry throughout south Wales. She will also be responsible for communicating with ALMA’s members across the region.

Harris, who has more than 28 years’ experience in the property sector, manages Moginie James’ Cardiff Bay branch, overseeing a team of five.

She said: “It is a great honour to be appointed as ALMA’s chair for 2014.

“As an organisation, it has achieved a great deal in terms of improving and regulating standards across the lettings industry in south Wales. Anyone using an ALMA regulated agent can be sure that they will receive the highest level of service, informed by the current best practice in the industry.

“I am looking forward to utilising this knowledge and experience in my work for Moginie James, ensuring that we continue to deliver a superior service to our customers.”
