We’ve all done it: hit the SEND button when we shouldn’t have.

LAT has plenty of evidence of how widespread the error is: our inbox is full of announcements followed swiftly by anxious recall messages.

However, none so intriguing as the announcement that arrived last week followed by a particularly anxious recall message.

The announcement means that we know which letting agents had market share in the first month of this year (and it’s not who you think) and, even more surprisingly, which came second (that certainly isn’t who you think and, branch for branch, must mean it’s the most successful in the UK by a mile).

We also know how well the big names did (not as well as you think) and we know some of the numbers as well.

However, the anxious recall email tells us that the information should only have been sent internally and could LAT please not use it.

So we haven’t.

But my goodness, it’s tempting…

Go on, spill the beans. So it's obviously not the really big boys who are the two top dogs. Does that leave Belvoir? Leaders? Martin & Co? Would absolutely love to know!
