Guy Zitter, former managing director of Daily Mail & General Trust's Mail Newspapers, has joined easyProperty as a non-executive director.

Zitter, managing director of one of the UK's largest newspaper brands for 20 years, will take on an advisory role to easyProperty chief executive Rob Ellice.

Zitter began his media career at the Sunday Express before joining The Mail on Sunday in 1981. Advertising director of the Daily Mail by 1989, Zitter was promoted to Managing Director of the paper in 1994 before becoming Group Managing Director of Mail Newspapers in 2008, which encompassed The Daily Mail, The Mail on Sunday, Mail Online, Mail Ireland and the group's stake in India's Mail Today.

Zitter has also been on the boards of the Evening Standard, Metro and DMG Exhibitions.

Digital has the huge potential to change the estate agency landscape. Whilst a number of parties are entering the online market, what has been missing until now is a strong brand that can lead from the front claims Zitter.

I have been the recipient of hundreds of business pitches requiring funding during my time at DMGT, and Rob's proposition for easyProperty was amongst the strongest I have seen he says.
