Tenancy deposit scheme My Deposits is hosting a series of courses over the next six weeks for letting agents to learn the essentials of Alternative Dispute Resolution.
An introductory course is an overview of deposit disputes, how to prepare dispute evidence effectively for the most common dispute issues such as cleaning and garden maintenance along with best practice advice on preparing inventories and definitions on common terminology such as fair, wear and tear.
There is also a new advanced workshop is designed for agents who have experience of dealing with deposit disputes and those who have already attended an earlier dispute workshop. This course looks at more challenging issues such as damp and mould and gives a deeper insight into how to tackle a wider range of causes for disputes between tenants and landlords/agents.
The workshop is led by My Deposits' head adjudicator Suzy Hershaman. The time spent at the workshop counts towards CPD hours. Delegates will receive a certificate of attendance upon completion of the course.
