First batch of Build To Rent homes just small part of giant scheme

Build To Rent developer Simple Life has launched 28 new BTR family homes in Newhall Harlow, Essex.

Part of a larger development of 700 properties being built over the coming years, the two, three and four bedroom homes are being built on a shared site with mainstream developer Countryside.

Simple Life now has over 1,200 new homes to rent across the UK.

A spokesman says: “We regularly host community events on our developments. All new customers are also greeted with a welcome pack to help them out with their new appliances. We have a 24/7 maintenance line to make life even simpler for our customers, and we ensure all of our sites are close to local amenities, schools and transport.”

Pepper-potted around the development, Simple Life homes sit alongside Countryside’s, which will be available for open market sale.

What this BTR basically confirms is that there is unlikely to be any reasonable affordability in the SE for FTB to be able to buy.
Quite a major change in the SE
    market.
The death of the FTB in the SE!?
Wonder what the rent increase policy will be.
    I do annual S13
    How will these corporates operate?
Surely there will need to be significant rent increases to pay for shareholder dividends.
Effectively the tenant becomes the shareholder cashcow.
No idea why these Corporates aren't taxed on TURNOVER like mortgaged sole trader LL.
One might consider that UNFAIR COMPETITION!!!!!!
