Agency group hits eco-target eight years ahead of schedule

Leaders Romans Group claims it reached carbon neutrality in 2022, eight years ahead of its original target of 2030. 

The firm says its greenhouse gas emissions last year totalled 4,744 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent - and it claims that its measuring methodology conforms to international standards “ensuring recognition and credibility.”

A statement from the business says its 2022 emissions were one per cent less than the year before “as a result of a series of targeted strategies and initiatives that collectively reduced and offset their carbon emissions.”

These initiatives include Energy Efficiency Enhancements such as branch re-fits abiding by new sustainable office principles.

There’s also Green Electricity Adoption involving the use of more renewable energy sources.

Sustainable Partnerships and Initiatives included planting over 28,000 trees sequestering at least 35 tonnes of carbon annually; and Restoration and Conservation Projects which included restoring wildflower meadows, aiding native oyster population recovery in The Solent, and supporting kelp restoration along the Sussex coastline. 

Investment in Carbon Credits involved purchasing and retiring carbon credits equivalent to their emissions; while under the Community engagement category LRG supported charities such as participating in local events to raise funds and awareness for disadvantaged children across the UK .
