Jackson-Stops opens new branch and bats away market worries

Jackson-Stops has announced the opening of its newest branch in Colchester, Essex.

This follows the launch of its virtual office covering Stockbridge, West Hampshire, which will also have a physical presence in due course.

The new branch means the agency network now consists of 43 offices across England.

Jackson-Stops’ Colchester branch will be headed by local agents Daryl Parr and Marcus Waddilove, who both come from rival agency Chewton Rose.

Nick Leeming, chairman of Jackson-Stops, comments: “The property market has changed exponentially in the past three years, with demand remaining resolute throughout. Essex is a territory that we were always keen to do more in, with such a variety of housing types from medieval barns to commuter homes.

“Daryl and Marcus’s experience make them a dream duo for the brand, perfectly positioned to help buyers and sellers in their journey for their next home.

“I’m confident that their experience, together with the central resources we provide to each of our offices, is a recipe for success.”

Jackson-Stops is one of the UK’s oldest estate agency brands, originally founded in 1910 after Herbert Jackson-Stops opened an estate agent in office in the Town Hall in Towcester.

Leeming concludes: “After a modest few months in the face of rising inflation and economic pressures, the industry expectation is that the laws of supply and demand in key parts of the country are likely to keep transactions and house prices buoyed.

"We’re seeing more downsizers enter the market than ever before, with prime country sales performing exceptionally well; a market that Jackson-Stops agents inherently understand and appreciate.”
