Chestertons has made a major announcement as it says activity has strengthened across its lettings divisionZ

It’s named Jordana Miles as Head of Short Lets, nearly a year after she joined the business as Business Development Manager in the division.

She will lead the team as demand grows for furnished accommodation among corporate clients, people relocating to London and those needing a temporary home between moves.

Across its lettings activities as a whole, the agency has recorded a 7% increase in tenant demand and a 3% rise in move-ins since May, when the Renters’m Rights Act went live.

Enquiries from prospective tenants rose by 13% year on year in August, while new landlord instructions increased by around 6%.

The short lets team is also seeing growing demand from corporate clients and international tenants relocating to London.

There is also a growing interest from ex-landlords whose properties have not sold as quickly as expected.

Miles says: “A property can still be well suited to the sales market even if it hasn’t found the right buyer yet.

“Owners don’t necessarily have to leave it empty and absorb the costs while they wait. We can assess the demand for a short let, prepare the property and generate income while keeping the sales strategy in view.

“Furnishing and presenting a home well can make a real difference to both its rental appeal and how it looks to buyers.

“Our job is to make the process work properly from start to finish, with carefully assessed tenants and management throughout their stay.”

Miles is to visit Chestertons’ 35 branches across London, working with local sales and lettings teams to identify suitable properties and ensure owners receive advice.

Short lets arranged by the team typically last around two and a half to three months.

She adds: “It’s an exciting time to be in short lets. We’re helping owners find a productive route through a difficult sales period, while giving people moving to London the flexibility and quality of accommodation they need. There is a real opportunity to grow this service across our branch network.”

Miles joined Chestertons in October 2025 after more than five years at Draker Lettings.

She has extensive experience in short lets across Sloane Square, Notting Hill, Fulham and neighbouring areas, and previously managed a team of eight negotiators at Draker’s Chelsea and Kensington branch.
