The Association of Independent Inventory Clerks is a not for profit membership organisation, set up in 1996 by professional clerks concerned that industry standards were not being met. The AIIC has grown to over 500 members nationwide. We are well respected throughout the industry for providing quality training and support.
Concern about standards is still as relevant today, since the introduction of the tenants deposit protection schemes a large number of inventory companies have suddenly sprung up, some largely untrained and uninformed – many seeing inventory production as a fast track to financial success. Fortunately many of these are unlikely to remain in business too long since they will quickly find that there is a whole lot more to inventory and check out reports than just producing a simple list of contents.
Our members understand the importance of good detailed inventories and check in/check out reports, without which any dispute will be very difficult to resolve. AIIC members have a good understanding of fair wear and tear and current legislation.
AIIC membership is open to all independent clerks who must comply with our Code of Practice, work within our Guidelines to Professional Practice. They will be fully covered by both professional indemnity and public liability insurance.
