Rettie & Co has snapped up Edinburgh Festival Rentals in a move designed to capture the city's vast short-term and festival rental market and expand the firm's current business.
Rettie & Co has been in existence for over 20 years but over the last six months it has restructured to provide its 1,200 landlords with a specialist asset management service in addition to traditional letting agency support.
Edinburgh Festival is the largest arts festival in the world and takes place every August. In 2014 there were 49,497 performances of 3,193 shows in 299 venues. It is internationally recognised and attracts approximately 250,000 visitors from from all over the world.
Managing director Simon Rettie says: We now see great potential in developing the business confidently moving into new areas of the rental market in order to expand and develop our brand. In this instance we have chosen to take over an established business which will certainly benefit from our reputation for the highest level of property marketing.
