Brexit leads to rent guarantor service expanding outside UK

A rent guarantor service based in London and previously aiming itself at the UK market is expanding into the Republic of Ireland because of Brexit.

Housing Hand says it is making the move following a surge of international students looking for accommodation in the republic’s major university towns and cities.

It says Ireland has seen a spike in international students following Brexit, with the highest number of students recorded at University College Cork, University College Dublin and Trinity College Dublin.

The firm says there has also been a rise in purpose-built student accommodation constructed in the Republic, fuelling international demand.

“We are expanding into Ireland to meet the demand from both the student halls and international students themselves. We will be partnering with universities across Ireland, as we have done with UK universities, but with specific offerings to meet the needs of the Irish market” explains managing director Jeremy Robinson.

Housing Hand says it will provides the only insured and comprehensive guarantor service available to all students and working professionals who require an Irish guarantor to secure their property.
