Foxtons beefs up compliance with new PropTech partnership

Foxtons is to give its agents access to a compliance management and checking service.

Fran Giltinan, Managing Director - Property Management & Customer Experience at Foxtons, says: “As the regulatory landscape continues to change, it's essential that we stay ahead of the curve and continue to protect our Landlord’s assets.

“This partnership will give our agents the support they need to continue providing exceptional service to our clients while remaining compliant with the latest regulations."

The service is from Kamma which claims that private rental sector licensing changes on average every eight days across the UK with around 20 per cent of all local authorities in England having at least some form of discretionary licensing scheme in place, including addition and selective.

Kamma’s data shows that 21, or over 65 per cent of all London councils have one or more discretionary licensing schemes in place.

The fines for rogue agents and landlords combined have now hit £8.7 million with average agent fines of £4,691 just in London.

And Kamma’s CEO Orla Shields says: “We are excited to announce this fantastic partnership with Foxtons which will enable their users to stay compliant with changing licensing regulations and protect themselves against the risk of fines. We are happy to work with such talented and leading agents like Foxtons, and find new ways to support letting agents with their compliance”.
