Large family-run regional agency snaps up independent rival

Pattinson Estate Agency has taken over a local firm on Teesside.

The agency taken over is Browns Estate Agents in Stockton and Norton, Teesside.

The acquisition comes shortly after Pattinson’s takeover of Ryedales Estate Agency in Cramlington.

Browns owners Chris and Trish Brown are retiring but their staff will stay in place. Simon Brown will continue in the business.

Chris and Trish Brown say: “We have taken the decision to transfer the estate agency business which will include all properties currently marketed, ongoing sales, lettings and property management, to Pattinson Estate Agency.

“We have chosen Pattinsons as we have a long history with the family and the business has a very similar focus to us. Like us they are also an independent family owned and run estate agency.”

Pattinson describes itself as “the largest and most progressive estate agency in the North East” with 27 branches in the region and a national auction facility with some 3,500 partner agents.
