Letting Agent Today has partnered with The ValPal Network to launch a new industry poll to assess whether the UK public is ready for artificial intelligence to play a greater role in the property transaction process.

The survey, open to estate and letting agents across the UK, aims to capture frontline views on how clients are responding to the growing use of AI in areas such as lead management, communication and marketing.

The move comes at a time when AI adoption within agency businesses is accelerating rapidly. In the last 10 days we have reported on major AI developments from Reapit, Street.co.uk, Alto and Rex Software – with plenty more in the pipeline.

But questions remain around how comfortable buyers, sellers and landlords are with the technology being used in customer interactions.

Craig Vile, Director of The ValPal Network, said the poll is designed to explore the gap between industry adoption and public perception.

“AI is quickly becoming part of everyday agency operations, whether that’s in lead follow-up, communication or marketing,” he said.

“But the key question is whether the public is moving at the same pace.

“We speak to agents every day who are embracing new technology, but also conscious that property remains a people-driven business. Understanding where clients stand on AI. Whether they trust it, expect it or are wary of it, is crucial.”

The survey will explore agent views on client readiness, trust in AI-driven communication, current usage within agencies and expectations for how quickly AI will become standard across the sector.

Results from the poll will form part of a wider ValPal white paper examining attitudes towards AI in estate agency, with findings expected to be released next month.

Vile added: “This isn’t about whether AI will play a role in the industry – that’s already happening. It’s about how that role evolves and how agents balance efficiency with the personal service that clients still value.”
