TV property guru Kirstie Allsopp has been airlifted to hospital following a fall on a Devon beach.
Cornwall Air Ambulance lifted the 55 year old star after she slipped on a muddy patch and injured her leg on Welcombe Mouth beach, near Bude.
She has posted Instagram images of herself in hospital with scratches and medical tubes attached to her face.
She writes on social media: “Almost every year since [my son] was born, we have celebrated my birthday at Meadowgate, one of my favourite places on earth.
“We have a picnic on the beach at Welcombe Mouth, a swim and a walk back to the house for some cake.
“Unfortunately, I slipped on a muddy patch on the steep path, and it took a whole host of people to get me to hospital.”
Allsopp thanks her family, the RNLI and Cornwall Air Ambulance for their help, adding that painkillers given to her at the scene meant she was “high as a kite” when airlifted.
She has since had surgery at Barnstaple hospital, where she describes staff as “amazing”.
