Dwelly, the acquisition specialist, has passed 16,000 properties after snapping up two more small lettings books.
The transactions add approximately 475 fully managed properties, taking the total to 16,140.
Dwelly has acquired approximately 200 fully managed properties from Hull-based Symonds & Greenham in an asset-only transaction, with the lettings portfolio set to be integrated into its existing Lime business, also based in Hull.
The second acquisition sees Dwelly acquire Michaelle & Co, an independent estate and lettings agency based in Worcestershire, adding approximately 275 fully managed properties to its portfolio.
Michelle & Co will be retained as a standalone business within the Dwelly group.
Dwelly says it believes the increasing complexity of the private rented sector is driving demand for well-resourced property management businesses, with its acquisition strategy focused on combining established local expertise with greater investment, operational support and technology.
The company is also investing in AI-powered technology to reduce administrative workloads and streamline property management.
A spokesperson says: “Surpassing 16,000 properties under management is another significant milestone for Dwelly, particularly as we’ve reached it through 13 acquisitions in 2026 alone. But what’s more important than the number itself is the strength and breadth of the business we’re building.
“Our latest acquisitions are different in nature, but both serve to strengthen our growing national presence, whether that’s through the integration of additional lettings stock into an existing operation or the acquisition of an established independent agency.”
“We don’t believe there’s a one-size-fits-all approach to acquisitions. Our ability to offer different solutions, whether that’s a full business acquisition, a succession plan for an owner or the purchase of a managed lettings portfolio, is an important part of how we’re able to continue growing at pace.
“The private rented sector is becoming increasingly complex, but our confidence in its long-term future remains unchanged. We’re continuing to invest in good independent agencies, their people and the technology needed to support them, and we see considerable opportunity to build on the scale we’ve already achieved.”
