A new inventory system has been launched which uses a digital pen.

Niche Communications has acquired exclusive rights to the system and has invested some £100,000 into developing it.

The system promises to use new technology without compromising on the quality of traditional pen and paper reports.

The digital pen technology records all of the data taken at the property to create a comprehensive final report.

The system eradicates the need for any end of day duties like typing up handwritten notes or audio dictation.

It can be used by agents directly, or by Niche’s own employed APIP-accredited inventory clerks. The system will also be made available to other inventory companies

Photographs of each room are provided along with a photograph of every item that has a condition comment. All photographs are numbered and referred to within the written text, and are automatically put through to the correct location in the report.

To maintain a manageable size of report, the pictures are in low resolution format, but clicking on each photograph immediately displays the original high resolution version.

Take a look at this example.

It's nice to find another property website that's as into technology as we are.

My latest gimmick is to ask people to Google "The Best Property Website Ever". Go on, you know you want to.

When you get there, feel free to leave a comment and create a link back.
