Letting agent may be jailed after clients paid rent into personal account

A letting agent has been told he faces a possible jail sentence after admitting stealing thousands of pounds from tenants.

The Manchester Evening News reports that Edward Fisher pleaded guilty to 10 counts of theft after being caught with more than £5,000 from tenants of south Manchester-based Sherlock Homes Properties.

The newspaper reports that Fisher, 33 and from Bury, took the cash between December 2014 and June 2015 when he was manager of one of the agency’s offices. He now no longer works for the firm.

He pleaded guilty to all 10 counts after appearing before Manchester Magistrates’ court between Christmas and New Year; he will be sentenced on January 19.

It is alleged that he asked clients to pay their rent directly into his bank account, rather than the agency’s account.

The report is here.

This is really a shame! I am fed up with all the lies these days. Seriously, you don't know who you can trust and who to avoid. I hope that justice will be served.
