Launching June 1 - new franchise network of lettings agents

The prominent industry figure Sean Newman is next week launching a lettings division of his network of self-employed agents.

The existing network - which changed its name from Newman Property Experts to The Property Experts early this year - says the new division will be called The Lettings Experts and will offer agents the opportunity to earn up to 70 per cent of the lettings fees and 100 per cent of the management fees.

Newman, who is the owner of a 16-branch Fine & Country franchise, says agents operating under The Lettings Experts brand will be supplied with all the tools, support and training they need to set up and run a successful business with recurring revenue.

The Lettings Experts will provide agents with CRM software, access to property portals, marketing material, and strategies to attract and retain landlords. Agents will do their own property management but if they need support, The Lettings Experts will provide other services such as rent collection and tenancy renewals.

Its managing director, Susan Liles, has over 25 years’ experience in lettings, with senior roles across national corporate agency, self-employed hybrid models, and most recently as a consultant for a PropTech/insurance company.

She says: “Our goal is to provide the best and most attractive business model for self-employed letting agents in the UK. We have designed the framework and a fully compliant end to end process that offers agents a great platform with the best technology, training and support to run a successful lettings business”

Newman wants to build a network of 1,000 letting agents across the UK, and says: “There is clearly an appetite for this model, we have been overwhelmed by the response from existing letting agents who are currently employed and want to set up their own lettings business and also estate agents who wish to start doing lettings.

“It’s a very attractive model with agents earning 70 per cent of the letting fees and up to 100 per cent of the management fees. Unlike a typical franchise, there are no upfront costs, and the license fee starts at just £150+VAT per month.”
