Build To Rent trade body beefs up its top team

The UK Apartment Association - effectively a trade body for the Build To Rent sector - is beefing up its top table with a new operations and marketing director.

Graham Sibley will head up all UKAA operations covering purpose-built, professionally managed rental homes in the Build to Rent, Single Family Rental, Co-Living and Later Living sectors.

A statement says Sibley “will be responsible for leading the UKAA team to provide high levels of service to members and sponsors while also growing the membership base. He will deliver a sector-leading programme of conferences, webinars and seminars, and provide the base for the UKAA to influence government on behalf of the BTR sector.”

Sibley has extensive experience of membership organisations in the built environment having held senior positions at the Institution of Civil Engineers and sector skills council Asset Skills. At the UKAA he will work closely with chief executive Brendan Geraghty, whose focus will be on strategic matters and presenting the voice of BTR in 2024 and beyond.

He says: “I am excited to be joining the UKAA at such a key time for the organisation and for the purpose-built accommodation sectors that its work covers. Increasingly, such accommodation is delivering value for investors, developers and residents alike, making it an essential component of the UK’s housing mix going forward – as well as numerous overseas markets. I look forward to leading the UKAA’s important operational work as these accommodation models continue to mature.”

And Geraghty adds: “We have a busy year ahead, with the delivery of the Build to Rent Code of Practice, the rebranding of the UKAA to reflect the scale of the sector and the progression of the UKAA Manifesto. Graham’s wealth of experience from within the UKAA and beyond will ensure sound operational management at this important time in the organisation’s growth.”
