A letting agency has pledged to make its fees information clearer on its Rightmove listings.
The Advertising Standards Authority had received a complaint about a listing on the portal by the letting agency Jigsaws.
The text at the top of the listing stated "£546 pcm" above a hyperlink titled 'Fees Apply'.
Further down the listing there was text stating: "Subject to an additional £50 per month to cover all bills, internet, council tax!"
The complainant challenged whether the non-optional additional £50 monthly fee was presented clearly; when it investigated, the ASA also found that the agency appeared to charge an admin fee.
“We approached the advertiser about the concerns that had been raised and they gave their assurance they would amend all applicable advertising so that quoted prices included non-optional fees that apply to all customers” says a spokeswoman for the authority.
