Agents invited to have their say on maintenance and repairs

Repairs service provider Fixflo is this week opening its annual call for comments from letting agents on repairs and maintenance issues.

Although a commercial exercise, the Rental Repairs Survey has gained sector-wide significance in recent years, giving agents a platform for commenting - input which then contributes to the annual Fixflo Report, supported by the Association of Residential Letting Agents.

Pulling on key data trends, this report seeks to build up a national picture of repairs and maintenance processes across the UK with the aim of increasing efficiency, improving client retention and helping agents offer the best customer service.

Last year’s results notably revealed that 47 per cent of lettings agents knew of a landlord who had changed agency due to a repair related issue.

This information was gathered from a survey of more than 315 lettings agencies, covering more than 750 branches. Along with the hundreds of letting agencies polled, data was aggregated and analysed from more than 259,000 repairs in UK properties.

Last year’s report showed a marked improvement from the previous year’s survey in repair management by lettings agencies across the UK. However, it says the revelation that almost half of lettings agencies are losing clients due to poor repair management highlights the importance of property managers streamlining their processes in order to ensure client retention.

You can contribute to the survey all this month here. All valid responses to the survey are entered into a prize draw for a chance to win one of 10 £50 Amazon Vouchers.
