Advertising watchdog steps in over online agency’s charge claim

The Advertising Standards Authority has stepped in following a complaint about the online lettings agency Upad.

The agency had a reference ion its website to ‘UPay on Success’. 

A complainant asked whether this was misleading as it did not make clear that a charge would be due if an advertisement was taken down even when a tenant had not been found by the agency.


“The advertiser agreed to amend the webpage and we resolved the case informally” an ASA spokeswoman told Letting Agent Today.
