There are lot of issues not right. Either the agents are incompetent or the talent is ignorant about her rights it of research on her part would have gone a long way to address the issues or she could have moved on. She says she read the contract and got the keys without signing the contract . Did not ask for inventory. Checking in to start with. And either did not bother understanding her rights but can understand complex legal documents. Missing basic checks when taking on tanancy. Or is this piece written for the uninformed tenants and pressure groups to influence the politicians to get free rides and politicians to eager to support anyone to get into office. The landlords invest and take risk to manage their business and risk . The tenants to honour the contract and do and checks before taking on commitments If the government make it hard for landlords then tenet will suffer in the end as the risk and letting won’t be worth for them Built to rent seems to be flavour of the day. Big companies will only invest if they get the returns the rent will be high. You will end up on matchbox houses and pay for facilities you may not need through service charges. Fine if tanants want to live that lifestyle and end up paying I person wages to service these facilities. How are these people going to finance their goals in life I.e getting married. The government politicians have saddled with education loans And the the high paying does not exist due to Brexit, and now Covid and as the world economy takes a nose dive Time for ruling class to get grips with reality and plan for future And move away from short term gains and party politics

It’s the government and everyone peddling misinformation that is the problem.the government, council and dwp do not want to pay for the homeless. They want these people to vote for them to keep in power. The government needs to have a proper well funded and well thought policy over long term The housing have been neglected since sixties. You will not see progress till there is will and commitment from everyone. At moment they divide different sections of community through misinformation and fake reports then pass legislation to get more taxed for short goals. Property is a high value transactions and you can’t have government policy on shoestring . Due to high value of transaction you need to get reasonable return for your investments. The housing will get worse and it suits government short term agenda so they can get more tax. Things will not improve and will get worse. The large cooperations will not invest in build to rent if the returns are less and will demand higher rents in return . This will then lead to higher social housing benefit bill It is all geared towards short term solution to suit their agenda. With reducing returns for small landloards and heavy taxation and unfavourable tax and justice system this will only get worse. With higher rents . It a matter of time the landloards will pull out and invest overseas loosing government more tax revenue The issues regarding Covid and Brexit has not come into effect on economy and now companies laying staff and people on willing to go back after furlong This a big political storm of short term thinking from government Civil unrest to follow due to people loosing trust Tough choice and things going to hard for young under 50 as the world economy slows down

The government , housing associations councils treat landlords as an extension of their benefit system. They have failed to provide the housing , The problem has existed before Margret Thatcher, she sold the council houses at rock bottom prices as to housing associations association and council tenants. They have tried to someone to pay for this sector. they have all failed. The last reforms made to DWP regarding housing needs rethink. they are not working. The tenants need to be held responsible for their actions. Stop treating landlords as cash cow. with section 24 changes and the government making harder to get tenants out. no one will invest , the Burden will fall on councils and government the house these will people with ever reducing tax receipts to pay for them. build to rent will not work for dss tanents as rental will be high and they will not be able to afford them .Private landlords not invest in this sector as business case does not justify the risk. There is going to be serious problems with economy and the effects or Brexit and Covid have not taken effect on the economy and government will not be able to increase taxes and pay for their vanity policies to please and preserve their vote bank. time to reduce or get out now. .Let the government and whoever feel they have the money invest and buy the houses, let the government give incentive , cash breaks and free money to everyone who want an house. Been there in 2008 banks failed, government s propped up the failing banks,

Nothing is for free, All so called charitable organisation have nothing to do but to get on bandwagon to find a cause to get media attention to justify their grants. those born in last few decades nee to look at the housing market in the sixty and seventy. The market was broken, everyone wanted the council house, and then not pay rent, that's way government sold all council house as everyone wanted free housing and did not want to work, leaving high social security bill. Now freeloaders want to have the same and get universal benefit, or get 80% from government and pay no rent and then refuse to go to work when they are told to go to work , Claiming mental illness not all but you have these so called charitable organisation encouraging these ignorant people that it is their right to get everything free and the world owes them a living so then can go and spent time on Netflix , furnish expensive lifestyle housing standards have improved over last decades and can better with proper enforcement and regulation. but not by councils and government to use as cash cow for their political aims instead of all new regulation and many money making schemes and regulation by the government why make a requirement by council to inspect all rental properties and issues a certificate of fitness to rent , check against all the safety regulation and then enforce it for noncompliance. let the market then find the right level of rent and encourage investment. get rid of section8 and section 21 . making a simple commercial contract with safeguard and immediate easier reposition. the government is paying people in need via universal benefit. reform it for those in need .why are these organisation and media encouraging these groups. IF these carry on BT L is dead , returns is not enough to risk the level of investment of 500k in Londo rent will go up and shortage in rental properties. Resulting to people to move in with their parents, hoping that their parents will fund their freeloading lifestyle. welcome to majority of freeloader with mental issues when they realise the cant get what they want and need to support themselves. For the government lots of debt in building council house, more taxes, and no investment in housing freeloaders not capable to work. I am not renting for time being keeping them empty, review later , get my money out and invest overseas where I get a fair return and less risk, again government is a looser as I will pay less tax. cut grants to these so called housing advise groups and use these money for other worthwhile causes People need understand no body owes them a living and need to take responsibility their own action. whilst I appreciate not all tenants ore freeloaders .The minority are being misled by these so called charitable organisations in pursuit of media headlines and trying to justify their grants and expenses for their overpaid ceo and directors.
